My work in web development has included conceptualizing, designing, writing, and coding both web pages and web applications. I aim to design sites that are user-focused, clean, and compliant with web standards.

myBrandeis Community System

myBrandeis Community System – In addition to giving an aging site a clean new look, I helped implement and design interfaces for a new calendar and classifieds system and coded numerous bug fixes and feature enhancements.

Coding with Tcl and Oracle, design with HTML and CSS. (See a screenshot)

Brandeis University Home Page

Brandeis Home Page – This concept for a new Brandeis home page included several conceptual design elements to tie in with various proposed sub-page designs. Many elements from this design made it into the final committee version of the site, and other elements are still on the table for future improvements. (See a screenshot)

Brandeis Search

Search System and Second-Level Design – I wrote scripts to perform web searches against the Brandeis LDAP directory servers. The semantically correct and Section 508-compliant design is now being used on dozens of Brandeis sub-sites.

Directory coded in PHP, template designed with XHTML and CSS and generated dynamically with PHP. (See a screenshot)

Maintex, Inc.

Maintex, Inc. – I created a new CMS that interfaced with legacy ERP systems and a new online ordering system. Allows for users to create new web pages and feature information on the home page with dynamically updated navigation and JavaScript drop-down menus.

Coded in PHP with MySQL, designed with HTML and CSS using Dreamweaver. (See a screenshot)

Tally Polling Place

Elections System – This prototype elections sytem was designed in response to ongoing student concern about the existing system for balloting. Designed to make voting easier and with a drag-and-drop interface for ranking candidates, the system was scrapped with the ballot initiative to move to a ranked voting system failed to pass.
